Isthmus director David Irwin, together with Vanita Ranchhod from Auckland Council, recently presented a paper at the 4th International Urban Design Conference in Queensland, Australia. The conference theme was Resilience in Urban Design:
The paper – From concept to delivering a new urban community: developing tools and mechanisms that go beyond the regulatory planning system – was presented in the Responsive and Inclusive Public Spaces and Built Environments stream. The research used the Design Guide and Design Code for the Buckley Precinct at Hobsonville Point as a case study on ensuring design quality from the masterplan scale through to the detail of lots, houses, reserves and streets.
